Medical Insurance

Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following date of hire with several plans to choose from. Premiums are paid biweekly for coverage through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Dental Insurance

Saint Francis offers dental insurance through Delta Dental for eligible colleagues. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following date of hire.

Vision Insurance

Saint Francis offers vision insurance through VSP Vision Care. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following date of hire.

Life Insurance

Saint Francis provides every full-time and part-time colleague a life insurance policy at no cost. Colleagues also have the option to purchase additional life insurance.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

Financial protection against loss of your income due to a non-occupational disability or illness that prevents you from working and earning income.

Medical Reimbursement Plan

Voluntary pre-tax savings over the calendar year for medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Dependent Care Savings Plan

Voluntary pre-tax savings through the calendar year for child care.

Retirement Plan

Saint Francis participates in a 403(b) retirement plan with Empower Retirement. Eligibility begins at date of hire. The Healthcare System automatically matches two percent at 100 percent and up to remaining four percent at 50 percent. Colleagues are fully vested after three years of eligible employment.

Earned Time Off (ETO)

Full-time and part-time colleagues accrue earned time off (ETO) based on hours worked.

Saint Francis Medical Services Discount

Saint Francis colleagues (including employed physicians and advanced practice providers), spouses and dependents receive a 50 percent discount on the remaining balance after insurance pays for services provided through Saint Francis Healthcare System. Colleagues do not have to have Saint Francis insurance to receive the discount. Those not on the Healthcare System’s insurance will be required to provide documentation to receive the discount.

Critical Illness Benefit

Colleagues can sign up for the Critical Illness Benefit to help in times of critical illness. Illnesses covered include heart attack, stroke, internal cancer, major organ transplant, renal failure (end stage), carcinoma in situ and coronary artery bypass surgery. Colleagues receive a cash, lump-sum benefit upon initial diagnosis of a covered critical illness or condition. A health screening benefit also pays $50 per year to a covered colleagues or spouse having the covered health screening test. Approved tests include mammography, pap smear, PSA (blood test for prostate CA), colonoscopy and chest X-ray.

College or Non-College Savings Programs

A convenient way for colleagues to establish a savings program for college or non-college needs with several plans to choose from. The benefits are available for children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews or family friends.

Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition reimbursement is available for part- and full-time colleagues in specific job codes based on the projected Human Resource needs of the Healthcare System ($5,000 limit per year for one year of service after graduation).

Funeral Leave Benefit

Full-time benefit eligible colleagues receive up to three consecutive days off (defined as 8 hours per day) for a death in the immediate family. Part-time colleagues are prorated.

Jury Duty Benefit

Colleagues receive up to 10 days’ difference in pay between the colleague’s wages and jury duty pay.

Discount

All colleagues receive a 30 percent discount on food items in the cafeteria. All colleagues also receive a discount on items purchased at the Healing Arts Pharmacy.
